AI resilience is a multidisciplinary challenge. It involves technology, but also economics, development, education, journalism, civil society, public policy, research and institutional capacity.
FAIR therefore combines expertise from different professional and geographical perspectives.
Our core team provides strategic leadership and coordinates FAIR's research, training, innovation, partnerships and policy activities. We also work with researchers, trainers, technology specialists, data experts and partner organisations according to the needs of individual projects.

A former senior BBC journalist with a Master’s from the University of Westminster, he specializes in technology policy, algorithms, AI for journalism, and cybersecurity for media professionals.
Head of Programmes and co-founder of the Foundation for Artificial Intelligence Resilience (FAIR). A humanitarian, development, and strategic communications professional with 15+ years across the Middle East and Europe. He has held roles with Save the Children Germany, CBM, Deutsche Welle Akademie, NRC, ACTED, and Doctors of the World. Holds an MA in Media and Development from the University of Westminster; fluent in Arabic, English, French, and German.
Associate Professor in Journalism with an interdisciplinary background bridging media, technology, and societal impact. Holding a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering and a Ph.D. in Media and Communication, he researches blockchain, AI, social media, and open-source intelligence (OSINT) in journalism, and built open-source tools including Mecodify and Alkasir.
PhD in Business Administration with over 20 years of expertise in systems thinking, digital transformation, organizational innovation, and social impact with an extensive track record of leading transformative programs and digital innovation initiatives with governments, UN agencies, NGOs, and private sector organizations across Egypt and the MENA region.
